Madison Avenue Natural

This card is inspired by a card Shelli the CEO of Stampin' Up posted on her blog last week.  Shelli tends to use minimal layers and lots of spritzing.  I must say it is not always my favorite, but this particular card was stunning.  So here is my interpretation.....

A Crumb Cake card base was stamped with the Madison Avenue images in three different colors.  Island Indigo, Rich Razzleberry and Crumb Cake.  Not perfect, but hey it is ART!!  The Sentiment from Vintage Verses was stamped in Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White card stock.  I used Apothecary Framelits to cut this out and Ovals Collection Framelits for the Island Indigo card stock.

Two different paper piercing packs were used.  Occasions from the Spring mini and Essentials from the Big catalog.  For $7.95 you get 3 templates and they really are essential to add that little bit of detail that makes your card stand out!  Rich Razzleberry buttons were threaded with Linen Thread and used to accent the Framed Sentiment.

Shelli is famous for spritzing, so I grabbed a spritzer and filled it halfway with water and added 2 drops of Early Expresso ink.  Shake and instant spritz!  I held the card at arms length and gave a spray or two, dried with the heat tool and WA LA, Natural simple elegance!!

Hey Every Bunny!!

This stamp set is from the Big Catalog and I purchased it after Easter last year and could not wait to use these cute little creatures and color them.  I love to color, always have, always will!!

Images were stamped directly on the doily with Black Stazon ink.  Then colored very lightly with markers.  Colored pencils or actual crayons could be used to color.
Subtles Designer paper was embossed with the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder.  A snip of Pink Pirouette Taffeta ribbon was tied in a bow and adhered with a glue dot.  The Sentiment was stamped in Certainly Celery and punched with the Large Oval punch then layered on an XLarge Oval of Daffodil Delight.

Pool Party Designer Series paper is the backgound for this card, embossed with the Honeycomb embossing folder.  Pool Party ruffled ribbon and Certainly Celery Xlarge Oval accent this card.

Papillon Potpourri and Punched Butterflies

This stamp set uses both Butterfly punches and offers you the option to stamp your scrap and then punch.  Butterflies in every Stampin' Up color, now that's a Rainbow!!  And notice the little antenna, you can stamp this on your background paper and pop the Butterfly on top.  Love this!!

I started out with a 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 piece of Whisper White card stock.  I stamped the Sentiment from Vintage Verses in Basic Gray and the Antenna in Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo and Rich Razzleberry.  I then cut the Scalloped Oval with the Ovals Collection Framelis and then embossed with the Cloudy Day embossing folder.  The Butterflies were then stamped on scraps of White, Pretty in Pink and Pool Party scraps of card stock and punched with the Bitty Butterfly and Elegant Butterfly punches and popped up.  I love the look of the darker ink on a lighter card stock.  Ink used was Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo and Rich Razzleberry.  Very Simple and Quick card!

and below is a scrap left from cutting out a Petite Purse.  What do you see?  I see Butterflies and Petite labels.........scroll down.........

4 labels and 4 Bitty Butterflies and 1 Elegant Butterfly.  Plus that strip on the bottom.........see what I did with that!!

"Thanks" is from the Vintage Verses stamp set stamped in Island Indigo ink on Whisper White card stock, then embossed with the Cloudy Day embossing folder.  A Tangerine Tango button threaded with some Island Indigo Baker's twine pulls all those colors together and accents the Sycamore Street designer paper.  I forgot to stamp the antenna so improvised with a snip of Island Indigo Baker's twine.  How cute it that?

Petite Curly Label Punch

I am going to share 2 cards in this post featuring scraps punched from Sycamore Street Designer paper and using Vintage Verses, Madison Avenue and Pretty Petites stamp sets.  All Sale-a-bration and ALL FREE each time you spend $50!!

Here's where I started.  I had Whisper White scraps left from some flower punches.  The edges were big enough to stamp my Petite Pretties images.  I colored with markers using the same colors in Sycamore Street designer paper and punched.  Any extra will be stored away in my empty brad containers for future use.   The Sycamore Street Designer paper punches from yesterday's post make an appearance also...

I used Madison Avenue and Summer Starfruit ink to stamp the Stem and Flower.  The Tangerine Tango Hello is from the Pretty Petites Stamp set and punched with the Petite Curly Label punch.  The backgound was embossed with the Vine Street embossing folder.  The Petite Curly label punches of Sycamore Street Designer paper were adhered with a bit of glue in a simple pattern.  Cute and FUN!!

I stamped the Stems and Flowers in Summer Starfruit and Island Indigo, then embossed with Vine Street embossing folder.  I used 2 Pretty Petite labels and a Pool Party Button from the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button pack.  3 punched Bitty Butterflies from Sycamore Street Designer paper pull the colors all together!!

Butterflies Sale-a-Brate!!!

I promised some more butterflies and here they are, in Sale-a-bration colors using the Sycamore Street Designer paper.  FREE if you purchase $50 in product before March 22nd!  Trust me you want this paper and you won't want to waste a square, so these Butterfly punches and many of our punches can help you use this paper to the MAX!  Always punch your largest images first and then go back in with a smaller punch and make the most of this beautiful paper!

I used the Chalkboard Technique on this card with "Vintage Verses" another Sale-a-bration stamp set.  Stamped in Whisper White craft on Island Indigo card stock.  Window Frames Framelits fit perfectly and go up one size for a Pool Party mat.  I popped up the Island Indigo with Stampin' dimensionals on the Pool Party mat and adhered to a Cloudy Day embossed Whisper White background.  The card base is Sahara Sand, you can see a glimpse of this color in the top butterfly.  I punched these butterflies from scraps of Sycamore Street designer paper, the colors all coordinate and the Island Indigo ruffled ribbon and matching Pool Party brad are icing on the cake!  The butterflies are attached with a glue dot, crimp the wings and these cuties take off!!
Super simple card and so easy to duplicate in any of our Designer series papers.

"Tip for the day"  How do you punch from a small scrap?  Add a handle!!  Use sticky notes to extend your paper so you have a handle.  Pictured below, this allows you to punch all your scraps, no matter how small!!  You can also use removable adhesive, but this can cause gumming up of your punches, so try not to punch thru any glue or the sticky part of the sticky note.  Cut your sticky note in strips so you have multiple handles.  Use again and again until the stickiness will no longer hold your paper scrap.

More cards coming showing how to make the most of your purchases with punches!  And featuring these Petite Curly Label pieces!

From Our Hearts Mother's Day Cards

I decided the snow storm was the perfect time to get a jump on making some Mother's Day cards for the troops.  So far 124 and counting......here are a few samples in case you are inspired to create a few.  I need them by March 9th so I can get them in the mail on the 11th.  The insides must be WHITE or IVORY, so they can be written in, no need to stamp a sentiment inside.

I will not add descriptions as most of the paper is retired and some of the ribbon is contraband.....which stands for $1 bin treasures!!  But I do have some tips, keep them simple!  Use embossing folders to ad texture and depth.  Use your large pieces of Designer paper as mats, use scraps to punch flowers and butterflies.  Use strips to make your own backgrounds.  This is the beauty of Stampin' Up product, IT MATCHES!!  You can flip it, punch it and embellish it so easily because it coordinates perfectly!

Here we go.....My favorite first!  Sorry about the glare, they are packaged and ready to go.

A few Simply Sent cards work well for this cause!

And here is my "tip for the day".  Before you throw that scrap in the trash PUNCH it!!  The new mini Butterfly punch is perfect for this.  Keep an empty embellishment container and you have instant card candy.  And since all our colors coordinate, you can easily add these little jewels to your future projects!  I will show you more tricks with these butterflies tomorrow.

Bunnies, I see Bunnies!!

Ears to You is one of our new Single stamps and is so cute.  Here are 2 samples in soft pastels, perfect for Easter!!  The first sample uses a pattern from Tea for Two designer paper, Pink Pirouette card stock and taffeta ribbon.  A Bitty Button is tied with a snip of Lucky Limeade Baker's twine.

On both of these cards I colored directly on the stamp with markers.  Pretty in Pink, Primrose Petals and Chocolate Chip.
I have taken this bottom card picture several times and it is always blurry?  It is very muted and soft, so maybe this is the best it gets, but much prettier in person!!
I cut both stamped images with the Oval Collections Framelits and then matted on a complimentary mat.  Below I used the Occasions Paper piercing pack to pierce the Certainly Celery card stock.  The Subtles Designer Pink Pirouette paper pack was embossed with the Vine Street embossing folder.  The leaves behind the bunnies are from "Just Believe" and the Sentiment from Delightful Dozen.  The Flower trim was dyed with the Pretty in Pink marker.

Easter Blessings

This stamp is a single stamp in the Spring Mini catalog and I love the font!  I knew I wanted to pair this stamp with Crosses of Hope for a Religious Easter card.  I love the color combo of Very Vanilla, So Saffron and Perfect Plum.  I used the Oval framelits collection to frame the sentiment and the Frames Tulips embossing folder to pop the layer of Very Vanilla mat on the card base.  The Cross was stamped in Perfect Plum and is easily cut out and popped up.  The Flower trim was dyed with the So Saffron marker and adhered with a glue dot.  The 3 Pearls add that bit of elegance for this Blessed Season.

Carolyn is still stamping!!

One more Creation by Carolyn!  Carolyn loves anything ORANGE and my only "Oh Henry" card was pink (:
We fixed that with these lovely Tangerine Tango and Pool Party Birthday cards.  Carolyn's card is up first:
Henry was stamped in Black Stazon ink on Sycamore Street Sale-a-bration Designer paper.  Henry is very easy to cut out with your paper snips.  The birds with the banner were stamped on the card base and then embossed with the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder.  The sentiment was stamped and cut in a simple rectangle and sponged with Tangerine Tango classic ink.  The Hat was snipped from another pattern of Sycamore Street Designer paper and Carolyn fashioned an adorable pom pom from White Baker's twine died with a Tangerine Tango marker!  Another Sycamore Street Designer paper pattern was adhered to the bottom of the card base.  The Strip of Tangerine Tango card stock was embossed with Delicate Designs Embossing folder.  This folder reminds me of bunting and gives this card a cute circus feel.  Good Job!!

I was inspired to create another version:

I stamped the Hat and flags in Stazon Black on the card base.  Then embossed with the Cloudy Day embossing folder.  Henry was stamped on Sycamore Street Designer paper and snipped out.  Another Sycamore Street pattern was adhered to the bottom of the card base and a strip of Pool Party Core'dinations card stock embossed with the Chevron embossing folder and lightly sanded.  A Tangerine Tango button and Pool Party ribbon from the Ribbon and Button Bundle finish off another adorable card.  Henry was popped up sitting perfectly under his hat and holding the banner with his trunk.  The Hat and Banner were colored with a Pool Party and Tangerine Tango marker.  The Sentiment was stamped in Black Stazon and punched out with the Word Window punch.

Birthday Blogger, Amy's turn

My other Birthday Buddy, Amy loves to have her cards planned out and ready to assemble!  So when she saw all the Stamp a Stack choices, she quickly chose her favorites and went to work.  Amy wanted to try the bleaching technique and duplicated my Pumpkin Pie Butterfly card, but then wondered what other colors she could try?  I hooked her up with some Perfect Plum and here is her creation:

The Swallowtail was stamped in versamark on Perfect Plum card stock, then heat embossed with Early Expresso embossing powder.  Bleached with regular household bleach and an Aquapainter.  Amy sponged a bit of Marina Mist and Perfect Plum classic ink after bleaching and stamped her sentiment in Early Expresso ink.  Adhered to a Crumb Cake card base.  Beautiful!!

Carolyn tried Marina Mist card stock and then sponged some Perfect Plum ink and adhered to a Perfect Plum card base.  I LOVE them both and so appreciate my friends helping me make more card samples to showcase on my blog!  Someday we will all be famous!!  LOL and then they will want me to pay them!  Maybe they will "work for stamps"!!!

Cross My Heart Birthday

I have always been a big fan of Crossword puzzles and this stamp set is a great twist on that theme!

The warmer temps have me thinking of Spring and Daffodil Delight is a go to color for Spring.  The Polka Dot Parade Designer Paper makes a nice background for the Oval Frames.  The Chevron embossing folder added some texture.  The Mini cupcakes were colored with Daffodil Delight, Pretty in Pink and Early Expresso markers.  Punched with the 1 1/4 scallop circle punch and then the 1 3/8 Circle punch in Daffodil Delight as a frame.  Basic Rhinestone Jewels were added to Bling out the O's in the sentiment.  See all the sentiments in this stamp set below and the cute images to spotlight with your punches.  Lots of possibilities with this stamp set!
