Best of Flowers

March's 25th Anniversary Stamp set is "Best of Flowers".  I have finally had time to ink a few of these up.  I Embossed the Hydrangea in Clear Embossing powder and then Bleached away the color of the Perfect Plum card stock.  I then added color back with markers.  Certainly Celery on the leaves and Perfect Plum, Marina Mist and Certainly Celery on the flower.

I then cut the image with the Ovals Framelits.  Embossed a piece of Whisper White card stock with the Holiday frame embossing folder and then cut it with a larger Oval frame.  The Perfect Plum card base is stamped with En Frances in Perfect Plum ink.

The Ovals are layered on top and a snip of ribbon form the Artisan Embellishments Kit and Perfect Plum taffeta ribbon hide the Christmas tree image on this embossing folder!!  Thanks to Diney for pointing that out to me!!

More Paper Pumpkin Creations

Today I am featuring the other 2 cards I made with the Paper Pumpkin Kit.  Card #3

I embossed with the Honey comb folder again and stamped some Bees from Collage Curios. The shading on this Designer paper is beautiful and the Basic Gray card base is white on the inside!  I used the Kit Sentiment and punched with the XLarge Oval punch and layered on a Basic Gray Scallop circle punch.  Super simple, and a totally different vibe.

Paper Pumpkin Arrives!

My Box of goodies arrived yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised.  I wish there were a few more cards in this kit, but the Quality is there and a Size D block for future projects.  This is a monthly KIT promotion and I signed up so I could show you how this option is great for the NEW stamper.  I am going to show a copy of the suggested project, then I am going to add my twist.

As pictured, no tricks, no added embellishments!  A lovely card for any occasion!

Flipped and embossed with the Honeycomb embossing folder.  This paper is so perfect for the Honey comb and a few stamped Bees from "Collage Curios" stamped in Daffodil Delight.  I used 2 of the Lucky Limeade scallops from the kit and the Lucky Limeade circle.  I punched a Scalloped circle from Basic Gray card stock and layered Hello from "Ciao Baby" and punched with the Petite Curly Label punch.  I had a few Summer Smooches Bitty Butterflies which accent the Button from the kit!

This picture shows Kit contents (envelopes are included) after making 4 cards, so I can make at least 2 more for a total of 6.  I love our Stampin Spots, they are so handy to use when inking edges and you can collect several colors by joining Paper Pumpkin.  Have a craft project delivered to your door every month.  Just what you need to get the Craftiness flowing and have all the ingredients you need to finish your projects.  And an Opportunity to use what you have to make each project unique!

Bunny Love!

I saw this Bunny last year and saved a picture to my Favorites and never made it.  This year I am blogging every day, so I need all the ideas I can find!  Really I have tons of ideas, but work a full time job and the Royals will start in a few weeks,so even less time to devote to my favorite past time.

This little girl looks a bit sad, I never was good at drawing faces, but still a cute card!  I'm thinking her ears are a little too straight up, what do you think?  Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder and I think this is a card the kids would enjoy making.

And this Little guy is overwhelmed by the BOW.  Looks like he is saying "what is that on my head?"
But you get the idea, play with your punches and have fun!  Smaller Bows would be my suggestion!

Best of Birthday

I wanted to show another stamp from the 25th Anniversary Best of Birthday Stamp set.

I made this card on the 80 degree day last week, thinking Spring was here!  Wrong!  So hopefully this card will Brighten your day and get those warm thoughts back on track.  The 2011-2013 In colors will soon be leaving us on June 1st.  I love these colors and especially all together!  I cut 1 1/2 inch strips of Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Island Indigo.  I alternated them on a Whisper White card base and flagged 2 strips with the Square punch.  The strips were glued down and then embossed with the Elegant Bouquet Embossing folder.
The Flowers were punched with the Blossom punch.  The 1 1/4 Scallop Circle punch makes the centers and they are held together with an In Color Printed Brad.  I stamped the Birthday cake in Black Stazon ink and colored with Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo and Calypso Coral markers and punched with the 1 3/4 Scallop Punch.
What I love about Stampin' Up the most is the Coordination of our products.  Makes mixing and matching a snap!!

More Butterflies

I'm hooked can you tell?  Here is one more Butterfly until I can get back in the craft room to make more Easter items.  I am fighting a bad back right now and just can't get my mojo going......

I love the Butterfly punches and the many ways they can be used.  Today I am using Summer Smooches Designer paper for the Butterflies.    The Sentiment from Oh Hello is stamped first in Island Indigo ink and the Elegant Butterfly punched on one corner of the 4 X 5 1/4 Whisper White mat.  Next emboss with the Honeycomb embossing folder.  Bees from Collage Curios are flying along stamped in the Honeycombs with Daffodil Delight ink.  The edges are sponged with Island Indigo to contrast against the Whisper White card base.  A piece of Summer Smooches was popped behind the punched Butterfly. The entire card mat was popped up on the card base.  Add a pearl to the Elegant Butterfly and draw some antenna with the Island Indigo marker.  Easy and so many looks depending on the Designer paper you choose!

Ingredients:

Whisper White card stock  100730  $6.95
Summer Smooches Designer paper  125409 $10.95

Paper Pierced Butterfly

I mentioned another version and then forgot to post!  Knee deep in Easter projects, so a temporary side bar, then back to Easter tomorrow.........

I think you can see the paper piercing better on this card.  I know Summer Starfruit is not every one's favorite, but it does grow on you the more you use it and paired with Basic Gray is luscious!!  I used a Basic Gray card base.  The Whisper White mat was embossed with the Vine Street embossing folder which was inked with Basic Gray ink.  Yummy effect don't ya think?
Sycamore Street Designer paper scraps were punched with the Bitty Butterfly punchand adhered with glue dots.  The Elegant Butterfly punch was used on a scrap of Whisper White.  The cut with the Labels Framelits.  This allows enough white space to show off the paper piercing.  A scrap of Designer paper was added to shadow the punched butterfly.  I used dimensionals to give it depth and tucked a string of the small Basic pearls for the Butterfly body.
A strip of Summer Starfruit satin stitched ribbon adds more color.
The Sentiment from Vintage Verses was stamped with Basic Gray ink in Basic Gray card stock and punched with the Large Oval punch.

Carrot Petal Cone......

In case you were looking for a carrot.....here you go.......I cut a piece of Tangerine Tango card stock in half, than ran thru the Big Shot with the Petal Cone Die.  I used this same die to make Santa and an Angel at the Holidays.  Here is another picture of the 2 pieces before....

I ran these thru the Big Shot again using the Elegant Lines embossing folder to give some carrot like texture.  Add Sticky strip to the flaps.
Adhere together once, then into a cone shape.......
Fold down 2 opposite rounded flaps and punch holes for your ribbon using a Cropodile or small hole punch.  I used the Tangerine Tango ribbon from the Sale-a-bration Ribbon and Button bundle and tied ribbon to form a handle.  Add some green grass for carrot tops and any other embellishment you choose and watch the Rabbits come for a nibble.......

These will be available to make at the Easter Treat classes Saturday March 16 or Saturday March 23rd.  Check my website for times and RSVP!  www.kathyswanson.stampinup.net

Top Note Tote and Mason Jar

This little tote makes a great Easter Basket.  And I love the Flower trim, it looks so soft and could easily be used for a sweet Baby Gift bag.  Tuck in a gift card and a travel size powder and lotion, how cute is that?  I kept this tote fairly simple, but you could add a sentiment, embossing and stamping to suit any occasion.

I cut 2 Top notes with the Top Note die in So Saffron card stock.  I added a strip of Pool Party Designer paper on each side and used glue dots to add the Flower trim.  The handle was punched with the Word Window punch.  The BAG inside is a small lunch sack.  Trim the sack down to fit between the top notes and adhere to each top note.  I used a snip of Tea for 2 Fabric as the ribbon tie.

Here is a quick candy jar:
I used the Scallop Circle Bigz die to cut a perfect jar topper from the Tea for 2 Fabric.  The jar ring holds it in place.  I used Daffodil Delight Seam Binding and a few glue dots on the jar ring, tied a bow and added a Flower.   Quick, cute gift!!

Treat Holders

These treat holder are super simple and can be made for any occasion.  I am featuring 2 sizes, this one uses 1/2  sheet of Lucky Limeade card stock measuring 4 1/4 X 11.  Score at 3 1/2,  4 1/2, 8 and 9.  This leaves a 2 inch flap which allows you to punch, or use an edgelit.  I used the Scallop Trim Border punch on this treat.  I added a 2 X 4 1/4 piece of Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer paper to the front and the Sentiment from EveryBunny is stamped in Pacific Point ink, punched with the Large Oval punch and layered on the Scalloped punch of Lucky Limeade.

This picture shows the score lines and the Treat I will be enclosing.
Punch the edge of the flap.  Punch 2 holes and tie your Pacific Point Stitched ribbon for a handle.  Staple your treat, or use a piece of Sticky Strip to hold the treat in.  I used 2 dimensionals inside the flap to close the treat holder.  And here is another version:  Bigger flap with another pattern of Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer paper.

Next up, the Small one!  This uses half the card stock, so you can get 4 from one sheet!!  Measures
 2 1/8 X 11.

These Snicker and Twix eggs come 6 to a package and I had a coupon!!  Yippee!!  The score marks are the same:  4 1/2, 5 1/2, 8 and 9.

This time I punched a peek a boo hole so the egg would show using the Scallop Oval punch.  Then I cut a piece of Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer paper 2 X 4 1/2 and adhered over the punched hole.  Don't panic I will show you what's next!!
Ok almost ready, you will turn this flap over and it will all make sense!

Where did those whales come from?  It's the opposite side of the striped paper!!  So line up your punch and punch again, you have a perfect guide!!

Secure that treat with staples or Sticky strip, add your ribbon.  I stamped Yum in Melon Mambo ink from Pretty Petites in the Sale-a-bration brochure and punched with the Petite Curly Label punch.  I trimmed about an inch off the flap to show more "EGG"!!!
Another version;

Check my calendar for Easter Treat classes the next 2 Saturdays. RSVP on my website  www.kathyswanson.stampinup.net

And see my Easter Tree in person!  This makes such a cute centerpiece and your guests can pick a treat!!

The ingredient list is long so I may give the shortened version......but remember use what you HAVE!!!  Other punches work, you can add texture with embossing folders, let your imagination soar!!!

Butterfly Peat Pot

Did you like the Easter Tree?  Here are the details on the Butterfly Peat pots.  These are SO easy!!
This is a larger pot and could easily be used as a centerpiece filled with Easter Grass and candy.  I used the glue gun to attach the Striped ribbon to the inside rim of the peat pot.  Lay down a bead of hot glue about 2 inches long, then fold over attach, fold over again and repeat for the gathered effect.  This ribbon is retired, but I know most of my followers have some......and in many colors!!  :)  Any wide ribbon could be substituted or our Tea for 2 fabric strips work great and have been featured on previous Peat pot posts.

I used the Tangerine Tango ribbon from the Sale-a-bration Ribbon and Button bundle on the bottom of the pot.  I used a glue dot about every 3 inches to attach the ribbon to the bottom.  The Butterflies were punched from scraps if 2011-2013 In Color Designer paper with the Elegant Butterfly punch or cut and embossed with the Butterfly embosslit in coordinating solid card stock.  Brights brads were poked thru each Butterfly, then the peat pot.  Spread the Brad prongs and the Butterfly is secure.  Smaller Butterflies were added with a glue dot.

The Butterfly on top was cut from Roof Flashing using the Beautiful Butterfly Bigz die.  Embossed with the Chevron embossing folder and held together with In Color Printed Brads.

The smaller peat pot has 3 embosslit Tangerine Tango Butterflies and Ruffled Ribbon.  These would make great "Place Pots".  A tag or label could be added to each pot with your guests name!  Or use them as cute gift holders filled with candy, lotions, nail polish, garden seed packets, the options are unlimited!
