Bye Bye Halloween....

I wanted to make one last Halloween card using the new Photopolymer stamps "Bite me".  I must say this spider web is fabulous!!  So if you need a web, get it before the frost wipes all the webs out!

Also wanted to give an update on Endless Wishes, the Photopolymer Snowflake stamps with all the great sentiments.  This stamps set has been turned off due to High Demand!!  Once all orders are filled and another shipment is on the way, this set should be available soon.  So keep it on the top of your list, but be ready to get it ordered, cause you know how this works.  When we don't have something, everyone wants it!  LOL

Here is my Spider card:

I used left over cardstock from Samantha's Spooky card.  Stamped the webs in Basic Black on Naturals White and a few spiders......Sponged some Elegant eggplant for some shading.  Embossed the sentiment in White craft ink and White embossing powder on Basic Black card stock.  Then added Dazzling Details for that shimmery web effect!

Ingredients:

Bite Me  134622  $13.95

Hope you all have a GREAT Halloween!

Samantha's Cards

One of my past downline had a home workshop Tuesday evening and here are her card choices.  Samantha has been blog hopping and the Halloween card is by Julie Day.

Both cards use sponging and this card uses the brayer.  Not a technique I teach very often and the results are not consistent and it gets inky!  The new Photopolymer Halloween set "Bite Me" gave us some sentiment choices, but the bats are from a retired set Wicked Cool.  A mask for the Moon was punched with the 2 1/2 Circle punch from a sticky note.  The sticky note was positioned on the card front and then Brayered with Rich Razzleberry.
When using a Brayer, ink it fully and then start rolling off your cardstock to avoid lines.  Same with sponging, use a circular motion and start off the card stock and sponge on and off.  It takes lots of ink, so keep going, but once it's on it's on!
The mask was removed and the Trees stamped in Basic Black ink several times.  Elegant Eggplant was sponged in the corners and a few clouds added to the Moon.  Bats stamped in Basic Black ink.  More Basic Black ink sponged to the bottom.  The sentiments were stamped in White craft ink and embossed with White embossing powder on Black card stock.  Punched and popped up on the Elegant Eggplant card.  Spooky for sure!

One Light, One dark, the Brayer takes some practice!!

The Christmas card is by Stampin' Up demo Laura Barto and uses sponging and masking.  I love the way the framelit focal point was cut to look like a window.  The card base is Night of Navy, with a Whisper White mat.  The sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy and then this layer was embossed with the Northern Flurry embossing folder.  Edges were sponged with Soft Sky and Night of Navy
 ink.

The larger frame was cut with the Labels Framelits in Basic Black.  The size smaller was cut in Whisper White.  The Tree was stamped in Always Artichoke.  A mask was used for the Moon, buy punching a 1 3/8 Circle punch in a piece of scrap card stock.  The Moon was sponged with So Saffron and Summer Starfruit inks.  Edges were sponged lightly with the Blue inks.  This frame is then cut and popped up on the larger frame.  Summer Starfruit ribbon was tied across the mat a few Rhinestones added for some bling!

From Our Hearts Valentine's

I sent the box of 258 Christmas cards last week and the note below is from Martie Shea the founder of this Organization.  I am so happy to give to this cause and appreciate all who have helped me over this past year.  I am planning a Thanks for Giving event on Saturday November 30th.  I hope you can drop by and make a few cards for this cause.  I know it is a busy time, but after all the Turkey and feeling stuffed let's give a little to those who Serve our Country!!

Kathy, your box arrived yesterday / wow, beautiful cards, again! Thank you so very much for your consistent support - we could not do this without your help/ thank you, thank you!
Martie

Valentine cards are due December 29th, so I need to get started and need your help.  If you attend the event, I will have cards cut and ready for you to stamp and assemble.

If you can't attend the event, but have some hand stamped Valentine's you would like to donate, drop them by or make arrangements and I can pick them up.  Cards need to be fairly flat and NO glitter.  I plan to mail this box the 2nd week of December to avoid the last minute mail rush.

Head on over to my website and rsvp!  www.kathyswanson.stampinup.net  Come for as long as you can stay.  Event will start at 9am-4pm.

All Occasion cards are needed all year, Miss you, Love You, Thinking of You are always welcome in the boxes.  So let's get together and STAMP!!

Thanks,

Kathy

Santa is Coming to Town.......

Here's my take on a swap from Convention.  I changed the belt buckle and added embossing and the Sentiment to the Beard.
Start with a Real Red card base, add a 1 X 4 1/4 strip of Basic Black card stock.  Punch (2) 3/4 inch black buttons.  Champagne Glimmer paper is punched with the Curly Label punch.  I then punched a square with the Postage punch and trimmed it down to fit inside the Curly Label.  Apothecary Framelits makes the beard.  The Fancy Fan embossing folder makes a wavy beard.  Stamp your sentiment before you emboss!!

Fall Masked Background

I demoed this technique at a recent Stamp A Stack and this card uses that same technique.  Use masking tape and ink pads to create a color palette and then stamp over.  Feature ONE stamp as in this card.  Magnificent Maple, or make a collage of leaves which I will feature tomorrow.

The background colors are Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Baked Brown Sugar.  The leaves are stamped randomly in Baked Brown Sugar.  A piece of Linen Thread is tied around the Natural Ivory panel and then adhered to a Baked Brown Sugar mat.

Give Thanks is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar on the Card Base.

Girl's Weekend Guest Bloggers....

Amy and Carolyn and I had a Girl's Stamping weekend.  We usually go out of town, but this year chose to hang out in the craft space at my house and not drag everything but the kitchen sink to the Ozarks!  Worked for me and gave us comfortabe beds to sleep in and quiet time to visit.

We had a massage to start off Friday night and it relaxed us to the point we did not stamp!  Oh MY!  Saturday we went out to Breakfast, shopped, cooked a Heavenly meal with our Heavenly Oil purchases and stamped til 2 am.

Sunday we slept in a bit and then started stamping.  The girls worked on Halloween and Christmas cards and each made 30 cards!  Woo Hoo!

Here are a few of their cards using retired Christmas paper with current Stampin' Up stamps.

Simple Christmas Greeting

This Simple Holiday card uses minimal supplies and goes together quick.  The card base is Whisper White and the sentiment is stamped directly to the card in Gumball Green ink.  Early Expresso frames the Chevron pattern from the Season of Style Designer paper pack and is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder.
A Gumball Green circle was punched with the 2 1/2 Circle punch.  Two Trees from the Hostess Set Warmth & Wonder were stamped in Gumball Green ink on Gumball Green card stock. This Circle is popped up in the corner.  Dazzling Details is added to the branches for some sparkle.

Snowman Gift card

Here are the Snowman gift card details.  I changed mine up a bit from the swap picture I posted yesterday.  Wanted to use current product and make sure it fit in a standard envelope.

Cut a piece of Basic Black card stock in half and cut the middle size envelope liner.
Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock. 3 X 11.  Score and fold at 5 1/2.  This allows your hat to peek out the top.
I embossed the top of the hat with the Argyle Embossing folder.
Use stocky strip to adhere the side and bottom of the card to form a pocket.  Your Hat may need a trim on the bottom, adjust and it will fit perfectly!!  I added 2 strips of Designer paper to each side of the Snowman to form a Brim for the hat.  You could use ribbon or a contrasting color of Card stock.
The eyes are punched with the 1/2 circle punch, nose, the top of the Pennant Builder punch and the mouth the Itty Bitty Punch pack circle.  Use a glue dot or 2 to attach the gift card and slide in the pocket.  Decorate the other side with your sentiment.  I intended to add a Snowflake to the Brim and use the new Chalk pen on the eyes, but too late!  You will have to see it in person at Stamp A Stack next week.  This will be a SAS choice.

Ingredients:
