For the Troops!!

I wanted to get this posted before I dive into the new toys I have to play with, or I knew it would be hard to stop and get this box ready for the Troops.  Carrie contributed 40 cards!  Miss you and Halloween, Carrie is an Amazing card maker and even colored!!  Awesome work Carrie!! 

I have been making a few here and there so I was surprised that after adding labels and putting in clear envelopes there were 147 of my own handy work!  So 187 cards in the box, room for a few more.  So if you attend any of the August events feel free to bring a few cards to add to the box.  Miss and Love You or Halloween themed.

Here is a sneak peak at my pile of swaps from Convention.  I will be using these as inspiration for cards to come.  Thanks to all the Kind Demos who swapped with me at Convention.  None of these card fronts will go to waste, as I remount them and send them to "From Our Hearts" and they are donated to our troops.  A Great cause that I am so honored to support!

Super Sunday Cards for the Troops

I hope to send a big box of cards this week to From Our Hearts!  I have 50 done and hope to make another 100 today while watching all the Football Festivities!  This will keep me busy and my mind off all the snacks I am missing.  I'm making Baked Chicken Wings that Daphne Oz made on The Chew this week and a new salad.  Pears with Spinach and some Heavenly Oils Lemon Olive Oil and Red Apple Vinegar.  Sounds odd, but a great combo and so Healthy!  I hope my gals are not disappointed there will be no Velveeta!! 

Ok back on card track, here is what I have made so far.......

I used paper scraps, Washi tape and Happy Congratulations for the Lanterns and the Sentiment is from Really Good Greetings.  I love how you can change the colors of the lanterns for a totally different look.  I made some Red, White and Blue, so cute!

Valentines ?????? What Day is it??

You are not Dreaming......Diney and Michele have been my Little helpers and we have done it!  250 Valentine's ready to be mailed this week so they can be shipped to the Troops overseas in time for Valentines Day!!  Thanks Gals for giving your time to help with this effort!!  Some of the Designs use Retired paper, but CHECK out the NEW stamps!!  We will be using these cute images on cards after Christmas.

These Shiny card bases were some Clearance cards from a not to be named store!  I try to keep these cards simple, so having the base embossed and ready to go made it easier to assemble 250 cards!

From Our Hearts Valentine's

I sent the box of 258 Christmas cards last week and the note below is from Martie Shea the founder of this Organization.  I am so happy to give to this cause and appreciate all who have helped me over this past year.  I am planning a Thanks for Giving event on Saturday November 30th.  I hope you can drop by and make a few cards for this cause.  I know it is a busy time, but after all the Turkey and feeling stuffed let's give a little to those who Serve our Country!!

Kathy, your box arrived yesterday / wow, beautiful cards, again! Thank you so very much for your consistent support - we could not do this without your help/ thank you, thank you!

Valentine cards are due December 29th, so I need to get started and need your help.  If you attend the event, I will have cards cut and ready for you to stamp and assemble.

If you can't attend the event, but have some hand stamped Valentine's you would like to donate, drop them by or make arrangements and I can pick them up.  Cards need to be fairly flat and NO glitter.  I plan to mail this box the 2nd week of December to avoid the last minute mail rush.

I'm Baaaaack...........with Cards for the Troops!

Yes after a much needed break to shop for Kitchen remodel supplies, Royal's games, cut grass, power outages and mopping water from the heavy rain.......I think I can squeeze daily blogging back into my schedule!

So first up are pictures of Cards for the Troops.  I had helpers and together we made 210 cards!!  Woo Hoo!  Boxed up and ready to mail on Monday.  

Thanks to Diney, Lisa and Carolyn for all your help!  I stamped "hand crafted" on each of your cards and signed your first name, so the recipients will know you contributed!

 

 

 

 

Carolyn took the Regal Rose bucket and made 2 versions of her cards using the small punched flowers with Dazzling details.

 

We had so much fun, we had a Baja Breeze bucket that Diney attacked with gusto, making many different designs with retired paper and stamps

I had to join the Baja Breeze fun and see how much I could use up.......

 

   Lisa made anything I passed her way, Thank You Jars, Jars with Apples and Butterflies. 

 

 

I re-purposed swaps and used up previous Stamp a Stack card kits. 

 

All 210 cards boxed and ready.  Thanks gals for all your help and  hope to see you again June 28th for another Stamp Fest for the Troops!

From Our Hearts Cards in the Mail

Mother's Day cards are due for the troops and the box is in the mail.  I want to give a Shout out to Carrie for her contribution of cards to this worthy cause!!  Total cards sent in this box 250!!  Here are a few pictures of cards by Carrie and some Dress Up cards I made to round out the total.

Next time you make cards consider using those extra scraps on the table and make a few cards for the Troops.  The next Holiday I will be making cards for is Father's Day.  They are due to me by April 6th, the next Stamp a Stack.  www.Fromourhearts.info is also in need of ALL occasion cards, so if you can help out it is greatly appreciated.
