Sweet Scarecrow

Hello and Happy Fall, but it is feeling a bit like Summer today!!  I have been away from the blog way to long, but I seem to have issues getting into a blogging routine. So we are starting over and hope to blog weekly and provide instructions for my projects.

Today's project is a Sweet Scarecrow card I have seen variations of on many blogs.  This first picture shows the Top Note die.  Cut you card stock in half long ways.  4 1/4 will be the width.  Score and fold at 5 1/2.  Place the folded cardstock on the die below the cutting marks on the TOP edge.  You want your card to be intact and fold.  See the cut out beside the die?  I hope this visual will help make sense of what I am saying.  Save that scrap of cardstock for your eye balls and stamping sentiments!

Next I cut 4x12 strips of our Orchard Harvest Designer paper and then cut them in half.  4x6  You can cut 2 top notes at a time with Designer paper.  Then cut the below shapes from your top notes.  The short end for the Hat top and the long side for the Hat brim.  Mix and match your patterns for the desired look.
I added some packing paper crumpled strips for straw between the brim and hat.  I used the SU bird punch for the Bird and branch.  And made a fabric bow of our matching fabric.  The nose is a pennant punch of designer paper.  Eyes are the small oval punch with your scrap from the top note.  I used black as the inner eye and our googlie eyes!  I inked the edges and drew a crooked smile and stitched the nose.
And there you have it a simple card for the season perfect for any Fall Occasion!!  Shop my store for all the items used in this card and don't miss the Clearance Rack.  New items have been added!!
