Constuction continues......

Sorry I have been MIA and never was able to post the latest pics of Snoopy in the Brag Book.  My power went out during the storm Sunday evening and then the demo began,so I will be taking a short blogging break as I re-group and get organized.
Access to my basement is now via my front door to the garage and then downstairs.  Annoying!  And to reach the fridge, out the front door, into the garage, then the kitchen!  I will appreciate the dust being kept out and the insulation falling from the ceiling!!  Snoopy hates the plastic at the doors, she is a scaredy cat when it comes to that rattle noise plastic makes.  Anyway, back soon and until then follow the progress on the kitchen on Facebook.

Paper Pumpkin......under construction

Since I don't have children I always turn to Snoopy for a cute picture.  She will be my muse for this 5X5 brag book.  This book would be perfect for a Teenager's Summer Vacation, Graduation, or any occasion worth documenting.  Easy to assemble and pre-cut pages with holes punched.  I used the Crop-o-dile to punch holes in my Cover papers.  The kit comes with 6 pieces of 2 sided designer paper 6X6.  I cut these 6 papers to 5X5 and used 4 pieces to cover the 2 5X5 pieces of chipboard.  Tombow adhesive works perfectly for this!  Holes were punched and the 1 inch strips were used as borders on each cover.  The remaining 2 papers were hole punched and added to the stack of 6 pre-punched pages for a total of 8 double sided 5X5 pages.  You could add cardstock or designer paper for additional pages and make you book as big as the jump rings will allow!

The kit also contains a Basic Black stampin spot, 2 jump rings, 2 Pool Party buttons, 2 arrow clips, 2 clear mount stamps and 6 sheets of adorable sayings and stickers!!

I wanted to Sprinkle in a new Background stamp and matching embossing folder coming June 1st.  Oh and some Washi tape also!!

The card base is Whisper White, with a Primrose Petals mat.  The Whisper White panel was cut to
3 X 4.  The Background stamp was inked with Primrose Petals and stamped.  The new embossing folder is easy to line up and match your image. I hope you can see the detail in this picture.  The Washi tape matched, so I wanted to add an accent top and bottom.  The sentiment is from a new Hostess Stamp set Banner Greetings.  I added a few Jewels for Sparkle!

Elements of Style

I have been punching scraps with the Itty Bitty punch pack and envisioning a card using them embossed to a background.  So here goes......

I stamped the floral spray with a new IN color available June 1st, Pistachio Pudding.  The roses were colored with markers, Blushing Bride and Primrose Petals.  The sentiment was stamped in Primrose Petals.  I added the punched flowers with a bit of tombow and then ran thru the Big Shot with the Square Lattice embossing folder.  I love how this embeds the flowers in the background.  The Primrose Petal mat is adhered to a Blushing Bride card base.  The Focal layer is added to the Primrose Petal mat.  A few pearls and done!

Birds of a Feather Fancy Fold

Why have I not used this fold before?  It is SOOOOOOO Easy and really gives your cards a POP!
And a Great way to use DARK card stock and line with Whisper White or Very Vanilla for your personal message.

The same layout was used as yesterday's card, but with a few extra elements.  The Baja Breeze card base is stamped with the Netting Background stamp in Baja Breeze ink.  Another pattern of Birds of a Feather was cut in 1 inch strips and adhered from the left side of the card base.

The POP is a piece of Whisper White cut 7 X 3.  Score at 4 1/4.  The longer side 4 1/4 will be adhered inside the card.  The 2 3/4 side is folded at the score line.  A piece of Island Indigo Satin Ribbon is tired at the fold.
The front is matted with a 2 3/4 X 2 1/4 piece of Baja Breeze card stock.  The Easy Events Thank you stamp was inked in Baja Breeze and then I ran the Island Indigo marker over the Thank You portion of the stamp.  Stamp on Whisper White, 2 1/2 X 2.  The centers of the Flowers were touched with the Summer Starfruit marker.  I popped up the entire top layer with dimensionals.  We will be making cards like this at the next Stamp A Stack.

Best Brother Ever!!

Today would have been my Brother's 58th Birthday.  He was taken too soon!  I had been stamping 2 years when he passed away and he was my biggest fan.  Always anxious to see my latest creations! Miss him bunches!

So this card is for Kevin, he loved to fish and loved tropical fish.  He saved money for a 50 gallon glass bottom fish tank and unfortunately the first time he filled it the bottom cracked.  Thankfully it was a slow leak, but a mess never the less.  Mom was not a happy!

This card was super simple.  Whisper White card stock stamped  the Sentiment with Island Indigo ink then embossed with one of the NEW embossing folders.  First I sprayed water on the Photo paper and then dropped ink and let it run in the water.  Let dry or use the heat gun to speed along the process.  Then stamp the images.  I used By the Tide and stamped the Fish image in Island Indigo and the sea weed in Pistachio Pudding.  Then I cut the photo paper with the Labels Framelits and trimmed one side to line up with the card edge.

For Mom and Grandma.......

My Mother and Grandmothers taught me the love of Nature and all things Floral.  My Brother and I grew up with a yard full of flowers at home and an even larger display at Grandma's House!  I don't really remember to many annuals being planted.  Grandma wanted something that kept on giving so perennials, daffodil bulbs, and cannas were our plants of choice!  She had a Bleeding Heart bush that amazed me.  We would look at catalogs and she would explain the map and how certain things would not grow in Illinois due to our ZONE! One of those was Hydrangeas,  I was always drawn to Hydrangeas and once I moved to Missouri began collecting different varieties of Hydrangeas and this is one of my Favorite stamps.  Powell Gardens had beautiful varieties of Hydrangeas, check them out if you get a chance.

The card base is Whisper White card stock embossed with the Framed Tulips embossing folder.  The Hydrangea was stamped in Certainly Celery ink on a 1 1/2 X 3 piece of Whisper White card stock.  I colored the Hydrangea with the Baja Breeze marker.  Outlined the stems with the Certainly Celery marker.  Baja Breeze card stock was punched with the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack.  I used my thumb nail to curl the petals, and then used a dot of Tombow adhesive to glue them down.  A small Rhinestone was placed in each center.  The Sentiment was stamped in Perfect Plum ink and the edges were sponged with Perfect Plum ink.  The Hydrangea was also sponged directly on top to add some plum tones.  This image was them mounted on a 1 3/4 X 3 1/4 Perfect Plum mat.  The entire panel is then popped up with stampin Dimensionals.  Perfect Plum Taffetta ribbon is tied around left edge.

The Itty Bitty Punch pack is the perfect way to use up scraps.  Punch like colors and keep in a ziplock bag or empty embellishment container.  Always ready for your next project!  Dazzling Details would be a good substitute for Rhinestones.

Birds of A Feather

Here is another pack of Designer Paper that had not been opened and now that I have cracked it open I can't stop!  So here goes a few cards using the paper and matching stamp set "Flock Together."

Both cards use a Crumb Cake card base stamped with the Netting Background stamp with Crumb Cake ink.  This background stamp is retiring and it really does give a nice soft background.  I will miss this!  A one inch strip of the Designer paper is layered over a Top Note.  The Top notes are Primrose Petals card stock embossed with Fancy Fan and Baja Breeze embossed with Chevron.

The Bird Cage is stamped in Crumb Cake ink, birds in Summer Starfruit and Island Indigo.  One Bird cage is cut out with the Labels Framelits and the other is snipped with paper snips.

The Sentiments are from Bitty Banners and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits.  Super cute, super easy!

Happy Anniversary

Today would have been my parents 59th Anniversary.  I am so glad we celebrated their 50th in 2004.  My Mother was not to aware of what was going on, but it seems like yesterday.  And I know Dad really enjoyed everyone who came to wish them Happy Anniversary.

I made this scrapbook page last year for the Artisan contest.  I found these pictures on an old slide viewer and had them converted to jpg.  The Dresden Designs die reminded me of quilts my Mother and Grandmother made and provided the inspiration for this page.

Twitterpated Designer paper is the background paper and the individual petals.  The Pictures were cut with the Dresden Die and fanned on the paper petals.  The Lattice die makes a Baja Breeze trellis on the side of the page with embossed flowers from Everything Eleanor,  The Paper Doily Sizzlit framed my Parents picture.  Labels Framelits provide a journaling block.  Forever and Always is from the stamp set Loving Thoughts.  Pearls were added for that Wedding touch.

This "Tea"rific card is a little more involved, but I wanted to use more of the Images in this Stamp Set.  The card base is Naturals Ivory.  I cut the Summer Smooches Designer paper 3 X 5 1/2.  The Natural Ivory strip is 2 X 5 1/2.  Tangerine Tango 1 1/2 X 5 1/2.  Emboss the Tangerine Tango piece with the Delicate Designs embossing folder.  Stamp the Tea Pot on a scrap of Summer Smooches with Early Expresso ink.  Trim.  Stamp remaining images in Early Expresso directly to the Ivory strip.  Color with markers.  Use the pen end to draw the Tea Pot handles.  Pop up Tea Pot.  Stamp the sentiment on a scrap of Tangerine Tango and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits.

Start at the bottom and adhere the Tangerine Tango embossed edge.  Add the Summer Smooches Designer paper.  These 2 pieces should cover the card front entirely.  Use the corner rounder to round the bottom corners.  Add the Ivory strip about 1/2 inch from the border.  Use Glue dots and adhere the Crochet Trim.

Graduation Preview......

I made a deal with myself that the next cards I made would use this retiring designer paper "Storytime".  I had not opened the package and it does lean toward smaller children, but the pieces I used inspired me to use Chalk board.  I think these cards would work for any age and I love the Big Chief type tablet background on the second card.

This paper from Storytime looks like an old fashioned board many of us saw in grade school.  I used the Argyle embossing folder for a pop of Riding Hood Red texture down the side.  The sentiment from Pure Gumption was stamped in Whisper White craft ink on Basic Black card stock.  I used the smallest Labels Framelit to cut the mini chalkboard.  Basic Gray stitched ribbon and a Cap stamped in Riding Hood Red complete this card.  I used the Large Oval punch and the Scalloped Oval punch for the cap.

This card used the Tablet pattern of Storytime paper.  Sorry for the shadow, too late to start over!  This sentiment from Pure Gumption was stamped in Whisper White craft ink on Basic Black card stock and cut with the Apothecary Framelits.  The Banner was created with Hearts A Flutter Framelits and the 1 3/8 and 1 1/2 circle punches layered on Cherry Cobbler Bakers twine.  I used the reverse sides of these 2 papers.  The card  base in Very Vanilla.

Florida Beach

Here are 2 more This N That pages.  This would make a perfect Teen or Graduation gift.  Summer, Vacation, Goals, the subjects are endless for this type of Journal!!

I used the Epic Day paper and the Secret Gardens stamps and Framelits to make these flowers.  Love the colors and the Tangerine Tango and Pool Party embossing powder make the flowers look alive!  More Washi tape and a few stickers help tell the story.
