Project Life Album with Flashback Designer Paper

I will be holding a Project Life class in August.  I covered my 6 X 8 album with a piece of FlashBack Designer paper.  Perfect for a Photo Album.  I used Tombow to adhere and will Modge Podge later.

Here are some pages using Project Life cards.  I have not added photos yet.  These layouts were made at Convention and I will probably make this my Convention Album.  The Camera stamp was my first prize at Convention.  I stamped in Black Stazon and cut this out with the Oval Framelits and added the next size Oval in Real Red.

Today I am showing a Designer paper used to cover a simple Composition Book.  Let your kids get creative and create their own note books!  The smaller book was one of our Convention projects.  We stamped directly on the Journal, but you could easily cover this journal with Designer paper as well.  Modge Podge the covers for extra durability,

This paper is beautiful and showcases some of the IN Colors.  Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Tangelo Twist and Whisper White.  One sheet of 12X12 paper will cover the Notebook if you use your scrap.  I flipped the paper for some interest and then cut Letters with our Framelits in Tangelo Twist.  Love this look and everyone at School will wonder how you did that!

Below is the back of the Comp book and the Journal from Covention.  Kinda Eclectic is the stamp set used.  This Journal could also be covered with Designer paper.  A perfect addition to any purse or for the car for those moments when you need a piece of paper!!

5 years A Stampin' Up! Celebration!!

My actual Anniversary is August 12th, but I was able to use the Stampin' Up! Recognition room and enjoy, sodas, Dove chocolate and comfy lounge chairs to relax between events.  The most fun was the photo booth!  I posted those on Facebook, not sure how to transfer them here.

Thanks to Tricia my Room mate for the Pics on stage.  It is so exciting to walk up that ramp and have that moment in the spotlight!!

Zentangle?

I had a chance to see this in person at Convention.  One of my SU friends Mona was taking a class when I arrived at my hotel.  And Lydia Fielder gave a brief demo on Main Stage.

Zentangle is doodling taken to the next level.  Do you Doodle?  Maybe you should take a stamped image and give it a try.  The fine tip end of our markers are perfect for this and you can even use color!  The Project Life Journal pens are perfect for your Black drawing.

You can shade your image later with sponging or a watercolor wash.  Use Stazon to stamp if using regular markers, Momento ink if using Blendabilities.  Here is a quick video.  Great tips and tricks!  Blended Bloom is a perfect image to Zentangle or try a smaller image for immediate results.

Koala meets Flower Pot

This is my July Thank You card.  Love this little guy and the flower he is holding looks like it was picked from the patch on the Flower Pot Designer paper.  I embossed the Oval cut out with the Lovely Lace embossing folder.  I used the Tangerine Tango and Hello Honey markers to color the flower.  Night of Navy card stock frames the Oval.  "Thank" is from the Work of Art stamp set and is flagged with a Square punch and popped up to cover the "Thinking of" behind it.

Home!

No cards today, a few pictures to show and a story to tell. You all know how I love to tell stories!  Stampin' Up is a fabulous Company to work for and the BEST part is the Friends you make not only in customers, that would be you gals reading this blog,  But also all the friends from Convention.  Long distance friends that LOVE what we do and get to share this great experience that is Convention!! 

My Story starts in Denver Airport.  I met this Demo last year at Convention and we shared the flight home from SLC to Denver.  I get off my first flight in Denver and headed to my next gate and there was Sherri!!  We picked right up where we left off a year ago!!  Sherri had a High B Boarding pass so I saved her a seat and we were in SLC before we knew it.  So nice to catch up and share our SU experiences in person!
 I do not have a picture of Sherri, but here is a swap she shared and you can see her name tag.  Her Husband is a Farmer and we share so many life lines it is scary!! We hung out together the first night at the paper pumpkin party and crossed paths several times during convention.  SO nice to get a random HUG when you are in a SEA of 4,000 screaming demos!

This little owl is a decorated Pillow Box, Sherri had just swapped for.  I will try to recreate in a few days and feature.

 

My new Friend and Roommate Tricia exceeded all my expectations!  Such a warm and Friendly gal!  This was Tricia's first Convention and I think I was able to enhance that experience with some tips and tricks to navigate the crowds.  Tricia was the only one in our  group to win Prize patrol.  Here is her pic with her prizes!

 

I can't tell you what Tricia won as it is new product from the Holiday Catty, but it was a stamp set and MATCHING Framelits!!  Woo Hoo, several of those coming in the new catty.  And as you can see Tricia is a PURPLE lover!!  Yes we have lots in common and I can't wait to work with her to better our Business and grow our Friendship.

 

One of my Favorite eating spots is Blue Lemon, if you follow me on FB you saw all kinds of food pics.  The last night of Convention we wanted to eat out, but Bonnie and Mona were exhausted.  So Tricia and I and another new BFF Rachel went to Blue Lemon to have one more Artichoke Spinach dip!  Rachel is from the Austin area and a downline of Mona.  This was her FIRST Convention also.  We ate and then walked thru the City Creek shopping area, walked thru the Church gardens and toured the BeeHive house (Brigham Young).   Here is a picture of Rachel and Tricia.

 

We had so much fun and hope to stay connected and grow our SU businesses so we can earn trips and re-connect in person every year! 

 

Time to get back to the daily job, more news coming tomorrow and the weekly deals!  I will be sharing swaps and adding lots of new events to my calendar.

Float your Boat

Here is another cute idea with the Scallop framelit.....waves!  The Sail boat was created with an Oval punch and then free hand cut the sails.  Bakers twine is added between.  Clouds were sponged around an scalloped punch out.  Work of Art creates waves under the waves.  Sentiment is from Cupcake party

Talking Turkey

Ok I know Thanksgiving is a long way off, but after using this scallop die I immediately saw a turkey!  And od course the Work of Art stamp helped me do this.  I am heading to convention so these posts will be short and sweet.  A card and the Stamps used.  You gals are smart, you can go on a scavenger hunt and figure out what I used!! 

This Turkey has some scary eyes, need to work on that, the rest are punches and the sentiment was created with the Rotary stamp!

Room Mate Gift

I am hoping my new Roomie does not look at my Blog today!  I am leaving for Convention today and will be meeting her this evening.  Always a bit of anxiety when meeting someone new for the first time and sharing a room for the next 4 nights.  But we Stampin' Up demos are a rare breed and usually gel well with one another.  I am so excited to be sharing this convention with Tricia.  It is her FIRST Convention and I know she will be awed and amazed!!!

I wanted to make her a little something to organize a few of the necessities for a day on the move......tablet, pencils, lip balm, CHOCOLATE, and some calming Camomille tea to wind down after a long day.  Tricia mentioned she loved Blackberry Bliss and on a Facebook post of some Washer jewelry she is making for a swap featured another pattern of this Park Lane designer paper.  So that was a no brainer for this purple girl!  These stamp cases are so easy to decorate. 

The dsp is cut 7 inches X 11 1/8.  I then cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock the same size and slipped them under the plastic sleeve.   I covered the binding on the tablet with a piece of dsp measuring 5 X 2.  Used tombow to adhere.  A piece of Blackberry Bliss Satin stitched ribbon was slipped thru the spine and tied in a bow.  I used a sentiment from an exclusive stamp set for Demos from Convention 2013.  Cut out with label framelits and a couple of Rhinestones added for the Bling. 

I bought some Sugar Free Chocolate and needed a bag to hold all the goodies, so I decorated a Natural Kraft bag with Flower Shop flowers and Petite petals stamped in Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss.  The Tag is clipped to the finished bag with on of the InColor Clothes pins.  I hope she like it!
