Epic Day Pop Up Posie

I love this Pop Up Posie Kit and the colors go with Epic Day designer paper!!  I had struggled with the cupcake liner type flower in this kit, until my customer Carrie shared a Pin she had saved.  I wanted to add my own twist, so I used what was in front of me and created this:

The trick with this flower is to cut about every 4th ridge to allow the liner to flatten out.  Thanks to Carrie I was able to get the look above.  I sponged the edges with Summer Starfruit ink.  The card base is Crumb Cake and the mat is Pool Party Core'dinations card stock embossed with the Honeycomb embossing folder.  I sanded lightly to take off some of the shine on this paper. 

The strip is a piece of Natural Composition Specialty paper 1 1/2 X 5 1/2.  And the scrap is more Epic Day Designer paper, from the same Hexagon sheet I used on the cover of my This N That album.  The Sentiment from the Posie Kit was stamped in Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White card stock and punched with the Large Oval punch.  Calypso Coral card stock punched with the Scalloped Oval punch provides the back layer.  Butterflies cut with the Beautiful Wings embosslit and Summer Starfruit stitched ribbon add just the right touch to this Bright, Happy card!
