Carved Pumpkin!!

I finally sat down on Saturday and carved my first stamp!  I had made cards for the troops and used a Retired die to cut pumpkins and that was my inspiration.  I wanted a Pumpkin of my very own!! Pretty simple once you get the feel of the tools.  I must say a solid stamp is easier.

First trace your design directly to the rubber. I should have taken pictures as I went!!  So here are some re-creations!

In this picture you see the rubber, the mounting foam, wood blocks and the tools.  I left ink on the stamps so you could see the details.

It is pretty easy to add lines and texture to a solid stamp.  Cut around the design with rubber and craft scissors.  Stamp the image on the block and then mount with cling foam.  I hate wasting things so I decided to use a corner piece and make a spider web.  Much harder to trim out all the inner area than carve a line or two!  But doable and I love the results!

Here is my finished card with some Dazzling Details added to the web for sparkle!

  1. that looks good! I still think this would be hard to do:)

  2. It took me 10 minutes tops to do both! The tools glide thru the rubber! The hardest part is hollowing out the small spaces.
