First Frost Swaps

Here is another stamp set and Designer paper that I have been holding off on purchasing.  But the Swaps make me want it all!!  Such Soft and Frosty colors!  Dawn Copeland-Tomlinson from Canada made this shining card with this bundle.  She used White Frost Shimmer paint on the Tin Tile Embossing folder for this look.  Designer paper and some cut outs with the matching framelits.

And Karen Patterson paired the Woodland embossing folder with Mint Macaron and some Sparkly Branches.  Simple yet elegant card!

SO if you are looking for a bundle that can make ALL Occasion cards and even cross over into Spring, give this Suite a look on pages 36-37 in the Holiday catalog!

Forever Royal

As many of you know I work for the KC Royals and for the past few years some of my Dear Ticket Selling Friends gather at my house for a ROYAL cardmaking session.  Each year I have designed some Royals inspired cards.  It was so easy the past 2 years with our winning ways and timely stamp sets that captured the moments perfectly.

This year has been a bit of a struggle, but when I saw this sentiment I knew this would be part of this years cards.  It just took me awhile to get to these cards.  Both were inspired by swaps from the recent OnStage November 5th.  Thanks for the Inspiration!!

And here we go, Stampin' Up does not currently have a Royal Blue in the color family, so I am using several Blues to show our LOVE for our Boys in Blue!

First up the Trees!!  I love this one for obvious reasons!!  Pacific Point card base, Softly Falling embossed layer of Whisper White.  FOREVER was stamped in Night of Navy BEFORE embossing.  And yes I cut off the rest of the sentiment to insure no hint of the other words show on our projects!!  Trees were stamped in Night of Navy, Pacific Point and Marina Mist and cut out with the Peaceful Pines Framelits.  So easy, you can cut ALL 3 trees at the same time!!  ROYAL was spelled out with Labeler Alphabet.  I won this set last year at Convention, little did I know how handy this set would be this Christmas!!

This card is a Flurry of Snowflakes in the same colors,  Pacific Point, Marina Mist and Soft Sky on the Smoky Slate background.  Forever Royal is again stamped in Night of Navy.  I stamped 2 snowflakes on Whisper White and punched out with the matching punch.  Sequins and Rhinestones were added for some sparkle and a bit of Whisper White craft ink was added to the background with the Gorgeous Grunge spatter stamp.

Labeler Alphabet 141936 Photopolymer  $17.00

Suite Sayings  140709 Wood $29.00,  140712 Clear $21.00

Peaceful Pines  139728 Photopolymer  $26.00

Perfect Pines Framelits  139665 $27.00

Flurry of Wishes  139732 Photopolymer $21.00

Snow Flurry punch  139680  $18.00
Gorgeous Grunge  130514 Wood $25.00,  130517 Clear $18.00

Softly Falling embossing folder 139672 6x6  $8.50

Fancy Frost Sequins  142519 $5.00

These cards will be available to make at the next Stamp a Stack December 3rd.  All these products are from the Annual Catalog, except the sequins!

Here is the NEW HOSTESS CODE 37PPFVK7 and this code will close Nov 30th at 6 PM.

Merry Mini Tree

This is a very easy card using the Merry Minis Punch pack in the Holiday Mini.  I started with a 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 card in Whisper White card stock.  Stamp your sentiment , I used "Greetings of the Season"and then run the card front thru the Big Shot with the Argyle Embossing folder

Cut a piece of Whisper White 1 1/2 inches X 4 1/4.  I then punched my trees,  putting the paper all the way in the punch to keep the trees even.  I was a bit off on the side to side spacing but will do better on my next attempt!!  =)

Then trim 1/4 inch off below the trees, this centers the trees from top to bottom.  Cut a 1 X 4 1/4 inch strip of Snow Festival Designer paper.  Cut a Solid card stock strip 1 3/4 X 4 1/4.  Adhere the designer paper in the center of the colored card stock.  Pop up the white tree strip with stampin' dimensionals over the Designer paper so your trees show thru the punches.  Punch a Tree from Red Glimmer paper.  Add a glue dot to the Red Glimmer Tree and push the glimmer tree thru the punch out.  Simple and easily duplicated for multiple cards!!

Ingredients:

Merry Minis Punch Pack  126882  $16.95
Greetings of the Season  Clear  128033  $11.95,   Wood 128030 $15.95
Whisper White Card Stock  100730  $8.50  40 sheets
Real Red Card stock  102482  $6.95  24 sheets
Argyle Embossing folder  127750  $7.95
Snow Festival Designer paper  126908  $10.95
Red Glimmer paper  121790  $4.95

Shop online 24/7 at:   www.kathyswanson.stampinup.net

A note on Designer series paper.  I have been making all kinds of projects using this Snow Festival paper, it goes a LONG way.  Don't be afraid to use your paper!  Cutting into that first piece is the hardest.  But keep in mind using pieces that will use the paper wisely.  Examples would be 3X4.  You can get 12 pieces this size from one sheet of paper.  One inch strips can be used as bands, banners, quilt strips and bargello patterns. All of the paper in the package is double sided, coordinated and interchangeable.  Matching paper makes cards go together so much easier!  One more card coming using this paper, see you tomorrow!!

Frosty Tea Light Place Card

Here is another treat idea for Frosty Tea lights!  Build a Snowman using punched circles from the
2 1/2 Circle punch and the 1 3/4 Circle punch.  I sponged the circle edges with Platinum Shimmer Paint.  Add the coal with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch pack circle.  Decorate the tea light as you wish.  I used Basic Rhinstone Jewels colored with a sharpie.  I used the 1 inch square punch for His top hat and added a hand cut brim.  A bit of Silver Glimmer paper for a Hat band.  And a Small heart punched from Red Glimmer paper.  I used Candlelight Christmas fabric scraps on the above  Frosty and a strip of Cherry Cobbler tulle

This neckscarf on the below Frosty is made with Midnight Muse stitched ribbon and frayed on the ends.  I only used the 2 1/2 circle behind, I like the 3 circle version better!

Use Sticky strip to hold your circles together and place 2 strips on the bottom of your tea light and attach the head.  Then decorate as you wish.  For a placecard write your guests name on the bottom circle.
These can be used for table decorations, place cards and even a pin!! Stay tuned tomorrow for the pin!

Frosty the Snowman Gift Box

This Cocoa Snowman Gift box is so cute!!  A great way to use a few punches and end up with an adorable gift!!

The nose of this snowman is a tea light!  I left the back accessable to flip the switch!  Fill this box with cocoa fixin's or any small gift.  The weight of the gift will keep your snowman from tipping forward!!

Now for the details:  I used the Fancy Favor Bigz XL die to create the box.  This die is amazing, I used 1/2 a sheet of Real Red cardstock, cut length ways, just enough to cover the die and cut this box.  The fancy edge is not needed and helps conserve on your cardstock, so 2 boxes from (1) 8 1/2 X 11 sheet!!
It comes out all scored and ready to fold and decorate!  I punched a 2 1/2 circle punch of Whisper White card stock and adhered to one of the large sides of the box.  Add sticky strip to the scored flap.  Punch 2 black coals with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch pack.  Adhere with glue dots.
To decorate the tea light I used the Xlarge Oval punch in Gumball Green, cut in half for the hat base.  The Scallop Oval punch cut in half and trimmed for a hat brim.  And the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch for the pom pom.  The Gumball Greem hat piece was run thru the Argyle Embossing folder for some texture, glue on the brim and pom pom.  Use 2 glue dots on the brim and stick to the tea light( make sure your switch is at the top of the snowman head)!!!
For the coal eyes and mouth , I colored Rhinstone Basic Jewels with a black sharpie!  Hit them with the heat gun and WaLa!!  Black jewels! With adhesive for easy attachment!
Fold your box and add sticky strip as shown in the below picture to finish your box.

I then added three small strip of sticky strip to the back of the tea light, making sure the switch is at the top for easy access.  Remove protective tape and adhere to bag, making sure your Snowman's head is on straight!!
I then added some of our Sweater Trim for the scarf.  I wrapped it around twice and tied a knot.  Add your cocoa, candy canes and a Treat tube of marshmallows.  Frosty is ready to go!  How cute is this!!
