Petal Passion Water Color Birds

The Birds in this stamp set are adorable and remind me of Chick a dees.  My objective was to COLOR some Birds so I did have to add some color and hope for the Best in matching any Birds out there.....but I'm sure these little cuties exist somewhere!  And the Female Bird is always a bit lighter in color so this Pair perched on the leaves represent this Sentiment!

I started with a Crumb Cake card base, Basic Black mat 5 1/4 X 4 and Marina Mist mat 5 X 3 3/4.  I stamped leaves from the stamp set in Smoky Slate for a muted background.  The Black Branch was cut from the Black mat!!  I remembered to do this before I glued the mats together.....barely!!  Save card stock and use your mats for cut outs!

Time to color these cuties and I used the lid of my ink pads.  Squeeze your ink pad a few times and when you open the pad you will have a small area of ink to dip your Aqua Painter.  Stamp and cut out Birds then color as you like.  I used Crumb Cake, Marina Mist and So Saffron.  Then Sponged around the edges to tone down the White.
