2 Step stamping

There is a lot of wiggle room with this stamp set.  Arrows allow you to line up each image, but it really does not matter if the line up is off a bit. 

The Colors on these Flowers are So Saffron, Daffodil Delight and Delightful Dijon.  I love the bit of ivory that peeks thru and the Pearls!  The Trio Corner punch adds interest in the upper corner.  Mossy Meadow card base is hard to see on the black mat I take photos on.

And this color combo makes me HAPPY!  Calypso Coral card stock and first layer if ink.  Then Watermelon Wonder and finally Cherry Cobbler!  Who knew this color combo would be so pretty!  And the Mask ironically called "Happy Patterns" adds a sentiment and the dots.

Pedal on.......

Only 4 more days to Sale-a-brate so I'll be featuring items the rest of the week.  I love them all and this set is so stinking cute!  And the Sentiments are perfect for some of those difficult times in our lives.

For some reason this card wanted to pop open, hence the finger.....Smoky Slate card base with the Bicycle built for two.  I used a Christmas Framelit to sponge the Soft Sky ground which could be a puddle?  I have seen folks doing a reflection technique with this framelit.  Can you guess which Framelit set?  I was tired so no reflection, but you get some Wink of Stella and a basket of flowers!

Good news my 21 Black & White plus 1 Color swaps are DONE and packaged.  They just need the recipe card with ingredients typed and my Stamped by Stamp.  Saving that for another day.

Rainy Days and Saturdays......

= a NAP!!  I need to be stamping......Onstage is 2 weeks away and so much to do, but all I can think about is sleeping to this glorious sound of rain! 

I ran errands all morning and did make one HUGE accomplishment......framed the Royals Parade poster.  I found an affordable frame at HL in Lee's Summit and wala, leaning on my mantle which still had Christmas deco a few moments ago.  Whew, glad to have that packed away.

And I am so stoked that the Royals Hall of Fame will be sporting this same photo on the windows at the stadium.  How cool is that?

Anyway, back to stamping........after my nap I will be getting busy and sharing my accomplishments.  I have posted April and May classes, so check you calendar.  With Baseball starting my class times are limited.  Feel free to drop me a line if you need a different date and if I am available we can negotiate!!  kswanson46@comcast.net

Swap Sneak Peek.....

Onstage (new name for Convention) is a little over 2 weeks away and I am signed up for 2 organized swaps.  A first for me in my 6 years of going to Convention.  This swap is Black and White plus 1 additional color.  We had to pick our color and I chose Rich Razzleberry.   I  have been waiting for my Botanical Garden framelits and thankfully they shipped today!!  But a DEAR customer, Deb allowed me to borrow hers so I could get started. 

Designing a card is not always easy.  This idea has been running around in my head for weeks, so when the backorder report projected a ship date of April 4th, panic set in.  Would I get the framelits in time to make the card?  Would the card turn out like I imagined?   Here is my first go at my swap.  I like it, but needs some tweaking.......I wanted to use Silver Metallic Thread behind the White Flower, but Silver cannot be used unless Silver is your Plus 1 color.....Boo Hiss.  So I may add a Rhinestone to each flower and add a bit of Clear Wink of Stella to the petals.  Not sure, can't give away the final card until after the swap!!

Flower Shop is carrying over to the New Catalog!!  Woo HOO!!  SU gave us a short list so we could make swaps with current product.  I have a feeling I am going to get a lot of swaps with this stamp set!  I used Whisper White THICK embossed with the Brick embossing folder.  Cut the Black card stock at 5 1/2 X 4 1/4.  Cut leaves on both sides with the Botanical Gardens Framelits.  This layer is popped up.  Stamped and punched flowers and added a bit of Black satin Stitched ribbon.  The verdict is still out on the ribbon?  What do you think?  Silver Thread right!!!  LOL!!

Another Birthday and Mini Drapery Fold Technique......

Ok yesterday's post was looooong.....so today I will give you the details on the Mini Drapery fold.  So easy and you can change the depth measurement to cover more of your card front.  But the other measurements will remain the same.  I have seen these cards everywhere, and you can find the measurements from www.DOstamping.typepad.com   Dawn does amazing things, check out her blog for tips and tricks!  My good customer Deb shared these measurements with me also.  She has been making Birthday cards for all her Friends and Family and tried this fold technique!!

Mini Drapery Fold
6" x 2" piece of  Designer paper
score at 3-1/4", 3-3/4", 4-3/4", & 5-1/8"
diagonal cut from the bottom of the  3-1/4" score line to 1/2 way up the edge. 
Fold back and forth at each score line - like a fan fold
Adhere to 4" x 5-1/4" card base
If you have overhang on the right side, just trim off with scissors.

Make sure your DSP has a coordinating side that will show up nicely when folded.  The paper stacks are perfect.  You can get 3 pieces out of 1 6X6 paper, or for a larger drape cut in half and make 6X3.

So here is today's card:

 See how the smaller pattern peeks out of the folds.....and I matted this drape on Island Indigo for some pop, just trim to fit!

I mentioned this new stamp a couple of weeks ago and mine has arrived.  In fact I am participating in a SWAP at OnStage in a few weeks where I will be swapping with other SU Demos for this cause.

Shannon West a long time SU employee and presenter at Convention and Onstage events carved this stamp!  Yes she is amazing!!  And she also came up with the idea to create this hash tag so everyone who receives a card with this # stamped on the card will post their card on Social Media so others can see and share.  Neat idea if you are part of the #phenomenon .......I'm on the outside looking in right now.  But I intend to jump in a little......and do this swap.  200 of us are in this swap.  20 groups of 10.  Shannon will receive a card from each of us!  Why?  Because she has opened up her heart to send anyone who friends her on Facebook a hand stamped Birthday card!  And she needs some help!
And how cool would it be if one of my swap cards is posted!  That would be awesome!

In The Meadow....

Posting late today....my computer was on strike last night, but working fine now.  I hate to think I may need to upgrade and get a new laptop.  Time will tell...

I have had this stamp set for a while now and finally had to get it inky.  This is not the result I was looking for, had hoped to have the Deer peeking from behind the trees.  But too much of the image was lost.  SO for my final try, I stamped all the images on Very Vanilla cardstock in Mossy Meadow, Tip Top Taupe and Basic Gray, and then embossed with the Trees embossing folder.  I then sponged color on the mountains, background and added some more grass to the bottom of the card.  I water colored the Deer and should have stopped!  They look a bit muddy, but I like how they look like they are standing in front of the trees.  The Sentiment form the stamp set is punched out with the Washi Label punch and an Antique Brad is the accent.

Candles and Cake.....

My GOLD Wink of Stella arrived and I went a little crazy!  This Happy Patterns Mask looks like rows of Candles to me......so these candles became my Background.  Once again Lost Lagoon ink Sponged on Lost Lagoon card stock.  The Sentiment and Cake are from "Party Wishes".  This Bundle comes with a punch pack with a Candle!!  I punched 3 candles,  used GOLD wink of Stella to accentuate the flames.  The cake stamp was colored with Blushing Bride and Smoky Slate.  A filigree of Blushing Bride was stamped on top for interest.  I added Flames of Gold Wink of Stella to the background candles.  This card really shimmers in person!

Can you tell I stamped the Filigree AFTER I put the cake on the card?  Not sure how to cover that up.....so going to pretend No one sees it!!

Here Fishy Fishy......

Friends and Flowers does it again, an adorable Beta Type pair of fish swimming along singing a song of Happy Birthday!!  This card idea was taken from the Occasions catty and I added a twist of Tangelo Twist on Lost Lagoon!  These 2015-2016 In Colors will be retiring soon, so if you want them order them NOW and a Re-inker too or they will be GONE!! 

Striped Scallop Thinlit provides the waves which had some Timeless Texture added and popped up on the Lost Lagoon card base.  I used a MASK from Happy Patterns for a watery background by sponging Lost Lagoon ink.  Stazon Black is stamped directly on the card base with a "Suite Saying". 

These adorable Fish were stamped in Tangelo Twist on White card stock and punched with the Festive Flower punch.  Clear wink of Stella is added for sparkle and shine!  Love this stuff!!

And the close up shows the Wink of Stella.

It dries almost instantly and paints on like nail polish!

Big News Baby

This card is So Simple and can be made for any Gender or number of New Babies.  This is really just for 1 Special new Girl, but these little Pea Pods were too darn cute to stop at 1.  I colored the pod with Aqua Painters in Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride.  Clear Wink of Stella was added to the background of the Babies.  The Bow Paper clip covers a slight over stamp on the B.  Opportunity to Embellish!!!
