Designer Paper for Days!

Do you ever feel like you have too much Designer paper?  The new catalog is coming June 1st with a whole new section of NEW Designer paper!!  I want it ALL, but need to use what I have, so today I am going to show you how to make an easy Gift Bag using 2 12 X 12 pieces of Designer paper.

And of course a card to match using the Designer paper scraps!  Here are the scoring measurements for the 12X12 paper and then I will use pictures to get you on your way to making your OWN gift bags!!  Finished measurements are 3 X 6 X 7 inches tall.

Decide the orientation of your paper before you start to score.  This paper I used has a distinct stripe pattern.  I decided to have the stripes go up & down and to fold over the Very Vanilla pattern out for the Top Band.

Score at 3 inches on 3 sides, then 2 inches on the final side.  Use your Bone folder to fold all Score lines crisply.

On your first piece, cut out the bottom corners along the score lines.  Save these 2 scraps for your matching card!
On your other piece ONLY cut 1 Score line on each side to create a flap.  Fold these flaps in toward the center of the Bag. Make sure and FOLD all your other Score lines on this piece before adding Tombow.   Apply Tombow Multi Glue and Fold up adhering to the sides.

 When you fold up, fold the sides in and press.  Tombow gives you some wiggle room, so get your paper lined up straight and press.  The picture below shows this step right before I pressed into place.

 Bag side 1 done!

 Now take your other piece and fold all those scores and apply Tombow to the Bottom flap.  Line your finished side up and fold this flap into the bag.  See below picture.

Once you have the bottom secured add Tombow to the sides....ONE side at a time!!!

The Top Band of the Bag with be pretty thick, so doing ONE side at a time gives you more wiggle room time with your Tombow.  Apply Tombow to each inside flap and fold up and over the other side.  Line up and press!

Wow is that Beautiful!!  This paper is Specialty paper so it is nice and sturdy!  You will want to add some Tombow under the Band edge.  See below picture.

I then used a hole punch and added Powder Pink Ribbon and tied a simple knot to each side for a Ribbon Handle.

 Now lets use up those scraps and create a matching card!  Very Vanilla Card base and a Powder Pink mat.  The Designer paper is 3 X 3.  I cut the mat 4 3/4 X 3 1/4.  I overlapped the scrap pieces on the mat leaving 1/4 inch of the Powder Pink showing.  I tied a Powder Pink Bow around this panel.

I added this panel to the card base and a Wedding Sentiment.
