Black Ice.......and No I am not talking about the Weather!

Snow in the forecast again and record low temps.....just an April day in Missouri.  Stick around 70's are coming!  I have been wanting to try the new Technique called Black Ice.  I may need to watch the video again, as I am not sure my card was a total success.

The card base is Crumb cake with a bit of sand stamped on the card front in Crumb Cake ink.
An Oval was cut from Copper Foil and Basic Black.  I stamped the Light House and Birds in Basic Black ink......here is where I should have stepped away and allowed to dry thoroughly!  But no....I want instant gratification.....so I drug the Black ink from Top to Bottom catching the edge and a few lines.  And caused a bit of smudging.....and then should  have really let it dry.................

Next step you add Versamark ink to the entire Oval and Clear embossing powder.  I started with a Brand new Versamark pad........and now it has Black ink in it!!  Lesson learned......DRYING is important and this new pad was extra juicy!!  Onward and upward.....I heat embossed and it looked like liquid glass.......but then the Lighthouse started to appear.  I did stamp again on top of the embossing and allowed to dry.  Not quite what I intended, but it is my FIRST Time!!  And now I realize I was supposed to drag the versamark....not blot it.....Live and Learn!

Here is the video by Melissa Kerman who created this technique.
