I've seen a lot of these Fracture cards and variations out on the Blogs and Pinterest. I had stayed away because it seemed like lots of work to measure and cut the Designer paper......and then it hit me. DO NOT CUT, simply add the 2 inch square and apply the 1/4 inch strips to all sides of the Square. Love this look and what a QUICK card!
Since the Zinnia Designer paper is available I decided to use these 2 patterns for the Fracture Card. Melon Mambo card base and DO not adhere the Designer paper until you Fracture the card!
Stamp your Sentiment and add the 2 inch Square to the Designer paper pattern. I LOVE how this Green pattern really pops when 1/4 inch strips are added! Start at any Corner of the Sentiment Square and go out to the edge. Repeat 3 times and then TRIM your overages. Some have embossed this panel.......I left mine as is and adhered to the card base.
On this example the Designer paper was already adhered to the Melon Mambo card base. SO I added my Birthday sentiment on the 2X2 Square and added 1/4 inch Melon Mambo strips. Notice how these strips extend all the way out to the card edge.....which look do you like better??
And a close up........I do like this monochromatic look.....but prefer the strips to end at the edge of the Designer paper. This Fracture technique is a bit addictive so off to try MORE!! If you want to use different paper patterns and follow the Fracture lines that is also an Option.....I'm going to keep it simple!!
