Cat's Meow

Well it's time.....time to get Catty......are you ready?   The Paper, the Punch, the Stamps.......all coordinate and are NOT Just for Halloween!   But I went a bit Halloween crazy!

First up I wanted to just use a Cat with some "retired" Black glimmer paper.  But there is a lesson here, when using Glimmer paper, foil and even card stock as a mat.......Punch that image out from the middle and NO ONE will ever know!!  Unless they are looking at this blog and tell their friends!!  Shhhhh, lets keep it our little secret!

So that's how this card started, a Glimmer mat to put behind the 3 X 3 Tree and Moon that you can cut from this Designer paper.  16 of these from 1 12 X 12 sheet!!  This is some of the nicest Halloween paper I have seen in years.  LOVE this pre-cut scene that you can use in different ways with other images in this stamp set.

And here is the close up of my kitty with some Rhinestone eyes, sitting in the light of the Silvery Moon!  Pumpkin Pie card base and the MISTI allows you to get your sentiments nice and saturated for a super Black result.

Coffee and a Card

Ok switching gears back to the Main Catalog to share a Coffee card,  Once I dug into the Painted Autumn Designer paper I saw cups...lots of cups.  Do you remember Dixie cups?  We had a dispenser in our bathroom growing up and I was always looking for the new patterns when we went to the store.  As kids we were limited to only use them when we brushed our teeth and gargled at night.  A cute cup always made that Listerine go down a bit easier.  Still can't stand that taste!  The crazy things we remember!

I randomly stamped some coffee beans in Early Expresso on Crumb Cake card base.  Added a Doily and then the cups.  One cup cut in Soft Sky which the Sentiment fits on perfectly.  The Lid and Holder are cut from the Wood Textures paper stack.  This is one of the most Versatile paper stacks EVER!!

I added some Linen Thread around the cup holder, it is hard to see the embossing, but you can see below a framelit to cut out and one to add Texture.

One More Painted Daisy.................

Ok, 1 more Sunflower wanna be and then I will move on......so many stamps in this Holiday catalog......so little time!!!

On this card I decided to use a Vibrant In Color......... Berry Burst with Sweet Sugar Plum and a Crushed Curry center.  I stamped both the wispy leaf images in Pear Pizzazz which gives an even more Watercolor look to this card.  Crumb Cake dots were added to the centers, a Berry Burst Bow on a Crushed Curry card base.

A very Simple card using this versatile Stamp Set!  I chose a Sentiment from "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" which fit perfectly in my small space.

And I hope you can see by lining  up these stamps and marking them with a tiny Black mark makes a difference.  Now I can line them up perfectly and the Petals really POP!!

Grinter Farms Sunrise Trip

My Royals friends and I decided to make the road trip to Grinter Farms during this long Holiday weekend.  Traffic was predicted to be awful during the peak hours so we went early.  We figured we could nap when we got back home.  Up at O'dark thirty(4:30am) to arrive in time for the Sunrise.  And it was worth it!

The Sunflowers will probably be good the rest of the week if you want to make the trip.  About 1 hour from Independence.  Go to Grinter Farms on Face Book and there is a map.  We parked  in the first lot we saw #4, you may want to go down the road for a different view.  Lots of DEW and we were a bit damp with muddy shoes, but it was worth it.  No Snakes, No Bug bites.......Great DAY!!

Take Two Eclipse......................

Since I sprung shades of Purple on you yesterday for a FALL card I decided to try again in more normal FALL shades.   Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry.  Pear Pizzazz leaves and Crumb Cake dots....that I forgot to stamp until the Letters were popped up!!  Dots or center for that matter....but managed to add just the dots after the fact and looks pretty good!  But intended to do a Crushed Curry center....so use your imagination!!

All on a Pumpkin Pie card base for a GREAT FALL Card!!

In the Close up you can see all 3 ink colors.  Same card different colors.  Can't wait to use more Stamp sets and Words with this technique!

Eclipse Technique FALL Asters

I must admit I had never heard of this Technique until AFTER the Eclipse and I thought....hmmm these folks are late to the party?   But then I took a closer look and was WOWED!!  I am so happy I purchased the Large Letter Framelits last year.  I am going to get so much JOY, LOVE, HOPE, NOEL, SNOW, HI, BYE, BOY, GIRL and FUN out of this Technique.

Think of some other words and share them with me in the comments.  4 Letters is about the limit to fit across a card.

This is SO SIMPLE......remember the triple layer stamping, very similar, but you do ALL the stamping first.  Then using your magnetic plate to line up your word.  Roll back and forth to make sure your cuts are all the way thru.  Make sure and save and small pieces that need to fill in the O, P, A, B, D etc.

Painted Harvest is PERFECT for this technique.......LOOK!!

I used a Rich Razzle Berry card base and Rich Razzle Berry and Sweet Sugar Plum ink.  Crumb Cake ink in the centers and used the small dots stamp to add texture to the centers.  Stamp the Sweet Sugar Plum first and then the Rich Razleberry,  Stamp an extra Flower and cut out to use as a mask.  The mask allows you to stamp your leaves in Pear Pizzazz and they look like they are coming from behind your flower.  Save this mask in your stamp case and use over and over again.

 Love the shading and muted look of this Stamp Set.  This set was NOT on my list until I saw all the amazing samples!

My Block was an inky mess and some transferred to the card, so I took a sponge with Crumb Cake and grunged it up a bit.  Line up the Framelits on the card front.  A magnetic plate is a must.  This is a bit tricky as there is only 1 Framelit for L.  But no big deal....cut FA  L and then fill in the other L last.  This allows you to space correctly.  I did it the first time....beginners LUCK maybe....oh there is another WORD!!!
Then use dimensionals and POP up the letters.  Add a bit of tombow and glue down the piece from the A.  Some demos are adding another letter in a complimentary color behind the stamped letters for a bit of shadow.  Rich Razzleberry would have been a good choice here, but I kept this simple.
